Maxine Fromme Horner

Although born and raised in the Yukon, Maxine spent most of her life in the Lower Mainland. She now lives in Comox and very much enjoys the "civilized" pace of the Island.

She loved drawing from an early age, took an Arts major in high school, then had a long break to raise a family. About 20 years ago she took a watercolour class, followed by a wide variety of courses to achieve a Diploma of Fine Arts. Now she paints mostly with acrylics.

Maxine's work has been shown in Vancouver, Comox and the Okanagan. All of her paintings are from her own drawings and are colourful and loose, many with a bit of humour, e.g., a bright purple northern outhouse surrounded by wild roses, or Trumpeter Swans coming in for a landing with their big feet out in front.
