Inland to Island Stitches & Strokes
Kate Bridger, Sue Parr

Pearl Ellis Gallery May 27, 2021 – Jun 19, 2021

Former Kootenay artists at Pearl Ellis Gallery

Two friends who landed on the shores of Vancouver Island in 2019 share their first impressions of island living as they explore their new communities with a joint exhibition at the Pearl Ellis Art Gallery from May 27 to June 19.

Kate Bridger, a fabric artist and Sue Parr, a painter worked together several times when they lived in Nelson but it was pure coincidence that they would both move to Vancouver Island in the same year. Bridger now lives in Comox and Parr is in Parksville.

Both artists are delighted by the smorgasbord of inspiration offered up by fresh new landscapes: beaches in place of mountains, puddles instead of snow banks and seal watching over skunk dodging!

The exhibition, comprising original works from both artists, promises to be full of first impressions that will be appreciated by long-time Islanders and newcomers alike.

COVID protocols are in place. Gallery capacity is limited to six people at a time.
