Margaret Kelly

Margaret has lived in the Comox Valley since 1999, and is a member of Fibre Art Voices, Pearl Ellis Gallery and the Comox Valley Art Gallery. Her medium was watercolour but is now mostly fabric and fibers in a mixed media kind of way. She hand-dyes natural fabrics to use and to sell. These are high quality cotton, as well as silk and silk/wool scarves. Margaret also loves to make botanical prints on fabric and cards. Her work has been exhibited at the Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery, Campbell River Art Gallery, Comox Valley Art Gallery, FibreWorks Studio and Gallery (Sunshine Coast), TOSH Gallery (Qualicum), Quilt Shows in Parksville and Cumberland, in Prince Rupert, Kitimat and Smithers in the 80’s and 90’s, and July/August 2018 here at PEG.

In Margaret's Words:

I am a self-taught artist. My art degree comes from my mind, my heart and my hands. I have benefited from many workshops and seminars from world class teachers and artists in watercolour, textiles/fibers, and eco-printing. I have also taught certain techniques to explorers of textiles. What excites me is what is happening around me, what makes me want to express some idea or opinion. I want you to enjoy my images but I also want you to feel free to interpret them for yourself.

You can contact Margaret at the contact info below if you would like to visit her studio.
