Helmut Novak

An Austrian by birth, I moved to Comox in 2018 with my Canadian wife. We moved here from Germany where we had been living for many years. We have also lived in the US and in South Africa, and I have travelled extensively in Europe, the Middle East, India and China on business.

I have always had a need for creativity, and the natural world has been a great source of pleasure and inspiration. I am an enthusiastic hobby photographer and love working with wood (natural sculptures and jewellery) and have dabbled in watercolours as well. My interest in these areas continues but I am currently exploring the theme of my three-dimensional “sea samplers”, created with the many natural treasures we have collected along seashores around the world.
