Good Intentions
Stephanie Good, David Good and Brenda Chalifoux-Luscombe

Pearl Ellis Gallery is presenting a trio of artists with "Good Intentions". Stephanie Good is an Acrylic/mixed media artist and Photographer in Comox. She studied Art and Design at the Visual Art Centre in Montreal. She designed and made quilts, made art cards while living in Vancouver. After 27 years, she wanted a change. Since moving to Comox seven years ago, Stephanie began working with acrylics. The beauty of the Comox Valley along with inspiration from many artists, inspire her to create. After taking a workshop by Channing Holland, her works expanded into mixed media. Stephanie is currently working on a series of various waterfowl and their environment. She enjoys painting with the "Monday Bunch" which she joined earlier this year.

David Good is an artist who is an Acrylic painter and Photographer, living in Comox. He studied art at Langara College and watercolour painting in Vancouver before moving to Comox 7 years ago. David is also inspired by the beauty of Comox Valley. He tried to imbue his paintings and photography with a sense of mystery and atmosphere. He is currently working on a series of paintings he calls Mid 20th century Industrial Totems. The images he paints are based on aircraft, automobiles and spacecraft from that era. He also enjoys creating images of the sky, water and wilderness that surrounds us.

Brenda Chailfoux-Luscombe is a pyrography and scratchboard artist living in Union Bay, BC. She combines love wildlife and interest in fantasy to create works of art. Pyrography / woodturning is very versatile and allows Brenda to burn on wood, gourds and paper. Scratchboard is a form of direct engraving on a masonite panel that is coated with a white clay and a thin layer of black ink. An exacto knife is used to scratch away the black ink leaving a black and white image.

Brenda will be demonstrating the art of Scratchboard at the gallery August 20 and 27 from 11 am to 2 pm. To see more of Brenda's art, visit www.facebook.com/bbwoodartstudio. Stephanie and David will take turns to be at the gallery during the weekdays from 11 am - 2 pm.

Stephanie Good, David Good and Brenda Chailfoux-Luscombe have each created in their own styles on a photograph taken by Stephanie. They will be placed together with a copy of the photograph above the pieces.

The Opening Reception will take place on Saturday afternoon August 13th, 2016 from 1 - 4 pm. Refreshments will be available.

The show will run from August 9th - August 28th, 2016.
