Juanita Olson

At one time, our family drew names at Christmas time. One year, my brother-in-law (Roy) gifted me with a watercolours starter set. So began a pursuit that provided a very pleasing leisure time activity, and a world of opportunity for learning.

More formal education in the watercolours medium began with Lee Baughman in Vancouver, Washington; then Greg Swainson in the Edmonton area; and most recently in acrylics with Brian Simons in Victoria, BC.

Now settled in the Comox Valley, I am able to devote more time to painting, and am enjoying venturing into other techniques inspired by the company of the many talented artists in the vicinity – particularly since having joined The Brushworks group.
