Teresa Kachanoski
Teresa Kachanoski is a multimedia artist who recently moved to Merville, Vancouver Island from Newfoundland and Labrador. Her art practice began in Quebec where she was born in 1956.
While raising a family she continued to nurture her passion for art through plein-air painting and drawing and eventually returned to university to complete a BFA in 2005 where sculpture and printmaking were explored.
In her current practice she is delving into the many possibilities of felt-making. She makes sculptural and two dimensional textile art as well as wearable art through wet felting, needle felting and embroidery techniques.
She has served on several not-for-profit boards including as President of SNAP (the Society of Northern Alberta Print Artists) in Edmonton AB from 2005-2009 and Chair of VANL/CARFAC (visual artists of Newfoundland and Labrador) from 2011-2016.
Her work can be seen on her instagram and facebook page @weepingwillowfelt.
