Reception to announce the winners - Saturday, August 9th - (1-3 pm)

The Pearl Ellis Gallery's opens its 4th annual Members' Photography Show, newly named the "Vicki Lapp Memorial Award" show and sale on July 29th. This exhibition of photography will run to Sunday, August 17th. The Gallery will be open to the public Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, Sundays 1 – 4pm and will be closed Mondays. There will be an "Reception to announce the winners" held Saturday, August 9th from 1 – 4pm and all are welcome to attend. It will be a great opportunity to meet the photographers in the show and to view the winning photos.

At this show the public, as well as the members, will be encouraged to fill out a ballot selecting their favorite piece of photography in the exhibit. We are looking forward to the participation of the public as well as the gallery membership. The balloting will go on throughout the first part of the show and the votes will be tabulated on Saturday, August 9th at noon. We will announce the winner and the runners up at 2pm at the reception.

The winners will also be posted on our website at www.pearlellisgallery.com . The winning photographer will receive 2 year membership renewal and a plaque to commemorate the event. There will be a draw made from all the ballots. The winner receives a gift certificate for 20% off on a piece of art that they purchase at the gallery during 2014.

Visitors between July 10th and August 4th will have the added opportunity to enter their names in the draw for a romantic overnight skippered private cruise for 2 during the month of September 2014, aboard one of Desolation Sound Yacht Charters beautiful yachts. There will be 12 draw boxes located at various locations in Comox. There is no cost for people to enter.

Visitors can expect to see quality pieces by 25 local photographers. You will see work by Ron Coutts (2013 Lens Award Winner), Steve Williamson, Claude Dalley, Martin Kaspers and Bert Badey to mention just a few. The Pearl Ellis Gallery is always a great place to visit and to shop for that unique new piece of art for one's home, business or as a gift. The gallery also carries a good selection of art cards suitable for all occasions. Members receive a 10% discount on purchases of art at the opening 'reception' or 'meet and greet'.
