Warm weather is finally here, and at the Pearl, we are excited to spend time outdoors, whether gardening, hiking, or painting "en plein air".  For the rest of the summer, we are excited to invite you to participate in a special opportunity to paint live in front of the Pearl Ellis Gallery. This public display will draw visitors to the gallery and allow you to interact and share your creative process with them. You may also sell the work you produce on-site through our Gallery Square system, though a 20% commission will be deducted. We have easels available in the gallery, including a French easel with a storage box, or you can bring your own. We also have an umbrella to shade you during these lovely sunny days. Join Pearl Ellis Gallery at Comox Summer Fest on Saturday, June 22, from 10 am to 5 pm. We will have numerous mini-paintings available for purchase by donation, and our talented member artists will be creating custom mini-paintings live at our booth. Request any subject—be it a tree, flower, night sky, or baseball mitt—and watch your personalized mini masterpiece come to life. December seems to be speeding along and soon the days will start getting longer. Families are cozied up by the fire, enjoying hot cocoa and seasonal lights.

December started with our first jury convening, to select works for the first two concept shows of 2024, and for the first solo/group slot. 

Our jurists included two board members; Teresa Kachanoski and Tish Doyle-Morrow, along with three other individuals. Susan Schaefer represented the established artist category, Pelle Campbell came to us from the Comox business community with a special interest in the arts, and Samantha Bishop is a practicing artist and recent graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.…
