The Pearl Ellis Gallery will kick off its 39th summer season with its 12th Members People's Choice Awards Show and Sale. The show runs from June 27 to July 22.
After looking at the beautiful art that will be on display for sale the public and membership is welcome to vote on their favorite piece The Members show will showcase a variety of painting, fabric art and sculpture representing many fine artists in the Comox Valley. The winner will receive gift certificates from Whyte's framing and Benjamin Moore Paints.. As well the second and third place winners will receive gift certificates from Benjamin Moore Paints. The winners will be drawn on Saturday July 15 and announced in the paper and on our web-site.…
The Pearl Ellis Gallery in Comox will be displaying a new show on June 6th entitled "Landscapes and Other Things - 2". The show not only has oil and acrylic paintings of landscapes, but also includes elements from the fishing aspect of life on the West Coast. It will showcase works by Lorna Welch, who has resided in Zeballos on the West Coast of the Island with her husband Larry for over 20 years, and David Netterville, who retired with his partner Louise to the Comox Valley from Europe about 10 years ago.…

The Journey's of three local artists, Louise Els, Izzy Pichette, and Julie Reynolds, are coming together in Comox at the Pearl Ellis Gallery, located at 1727A Comox Avenue, on April 25th through May 13th 2017. There will be a reception on April 29th from 1 pm to 4 pm and a chance to meet the artists and view their Journey's in one creatively, talented, and colourful exhibit. Each artist has provided a bit of background to pique your curiosity and to entice you to visit the gallery during the exhibit, Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm, and fill your senses.…
My inspiration comes from my life on Vancouver Island the surrounding ocean, the mountains, valleys creating the colors and textures, an artist's paradise! This show is my expression of ocean life represented in a flowing creative way. Some pieces are representational others a creative interpretation of the magic of the beach.…

The Campbell River Friends' show will take place at the Pearl Ellis Gallery from February 21st to March 11th. The opening reception will be hosted by the three women artists on February 25th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the gallery. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.…
The first Members Show at The Pearl Ellis Gallery features a wide range of artistic styles and artists including established artists like Brian Buckrell, Jill Paris Rody, Hans Larsen, Channing Holland and a host of newer artists. Many types of art are represented. All paint media, mixed media, photography, sculpture and fabric art. There have been some big changes at the gallery. Over the holidays the walls and plinths of the gallery were painted by our dedicated volunteers giving it a beautiful brighter look. The gallery updated its payment system with an electronic debit, credit card machine. This year we will be installing a new lighting system. Some future plans are for are a small gift store and many workshops. With all the hard work from our volunteers and the support of the community we are looking forward to a successful new year.…
“LANDSCAPES - NATURAL AND MODIFIED" is the title of the first “one man show” by local photographer Claude Dalley.
A popular figure quickly recognized by the ostrich plume in his hat, Claude has become well known in the Comox Valley. Following his retirement in 1997 Claude took up photography as a hobby but quickly earned recognition as a professional within the arts community. His move to the Comox Valley in 2006 provides him with endless photo opportunities.…

This is also the 10th year that the gallery has raised funds to present $1500.00 in bursaries to local high school students. Form and Fiction, a show by husband and wife team Pieter Molenaar and Marlet Ashley, runs from August 30th through September 18th at the Pearl Ellis Gallery in Comox. Although married, their styles could not be more different. Marlet Ashley experiments in abstract and collage using acrylics and mixed media while Pieter Molenaar is a classically trained artist whose skies, seas, cities, and landscapes echo realism with a touch of impressionism.…

Pearl Ellis Gallery is presenting a trio of artists with "Good Intentions". Stephanie Good is an Acrylic/mixed media artist and Photographer in Comox. She studied Art and Design at the Visual Art Centre in Montreal. She designed and made quilts, made art cards while living in Vancouver. After 27 years, she wanted a change. Since moving to Comox seven years ago, Stephanie began working with acrylics. The beauty of the Comox Valley along with inspiration from many artists, inspire her to create. After taking a workshop by Channing Holland, her works expanded into mixed media. Stephanie is currently working on a series of various waterfowl and their environment. She enjoys painting with the "Monday Bunch" which she joined earlier this year.…

The Pearl Ellis Gallery will welcome its 38th summer show season with its annual Members’ People’s Choice Show and sale. This exciting exhibition will run from Tuesday June 21st to Sunday July 17th.There will be a reception held on Saturday, June 25 from 1:00- 4:00 PM. Both members and the public are invited to fill out a ballot indicating their first choice of art work in the exhibit. The ballots will be tabulated July 9th and published the following week.
